My name is Jamie Wingert and I was born and raised in NE Iowa. I continue to live my best life there with my family and loyal dog.
I’ve been working in the field of mental health care and family and children’s services since 2005. My career began in child welfare services providing direct care to families, and has evolved to focus on counseling in a therapeutic setting. Historically, I have worked with a variety of individuals and families including those struggling with severe psychiatric mental illnesses, parent-child issues, addiction, and adjustment.
I practice with a trauma informed approach and understand that any type or size of trauma impacts our views and ability to process the world around us. We will navigate the healing and wellness process in a collaborative fashion in a safe and comfortable setting. My philosophy is that I will meet you where you are and we will walk the journey together at your pace.
I firmly believe we all have moments when we ride the wave of feeling grounded and content to feeling confused and lacking direction. Facing times of extreme hardship and lacking hope can be a dark place and we may feel the wave is not going to break. With support and a collaborative approach, we will explore how to make life enjoyable again.
